Create an account with your email and set your home location. You can add more locations (a workplace, a family member's home) to get alerts for each. Joining your neighbourhood group adds one step: confirming your address. Setup takes under two minutes.
Earthquakes, wildfires, floods and severe storms. Earthquake and wildfire detection use global satellite and seismic feeds; flood and storm risk combines weather data with verified community reports. More hazard types will be added over time.
Alerts still reach you. As a progressive web app, push notifications arrive even when the browser is closed, and critical alerts fall back to SMS if your device is unreachable. Lose connectivity entirely and the app keeps a cached copy of your latest threat map and local emergency contacts.
GPS confirmation is the default because it's automatic and needs no moderation. Where that isn't practical, SafeZone supports community vouching (a verified neighbour confirms a new user) and admin verification (a trusted local authority such as an NGO or community leader verifies residents directly).
Every alert passes multi-layer verification: AI cross-references community reports against USGS, NASA FIRMS and Open-Meteo data plus trusted local news, and assigns a confidence score. Lower-confidence events are shared as “developing situation” advisories, and the most severe alerts require corroboration from an official feed or multiple confirmations. Repeated false reports lower a member's trust score.
Government systems broadcast to broad regions without confirming your specific location is in the threat path; weather apps forecast but don't coordinate response.
